Shoe Last

The last is the final form that shoemakers use to mold shoes, an anatomical "copy" of our feet.
The shoe last comes in different shapes and forms and is made from different materials.

It's a common saying in the footwear industry that "last comes first". Many of us know this but due to lack of observation or knowledge, intentionally or unintentionally ignore its true meaning. The last is the most important part of shoemaking. Last is an entire field in itself, as a student of shoe design and foot anatomy, I can understand how important it is to work on the last of a shoe and how difficult it is to produce such a last for mass production as there are different types of foot shapes.
Shoes are an essential fashion accessory, but the main purpose of shoes is to provide protection and comfort to the feet. A good shoe can provide protection or stunning aesthetics, but comfort cannot be achieved by using such materials alone. This shoe last should be designed with the foot anatomy in mind to provide better grip and support to the bones. The last should be moderate to accommodate the foot and also take into account fashion preferences.
Each type of footwear has a different shoe last depending on its design or technical requirements.
